Colonic Hydrotherapy
What is Colonic Hydrotherapy?
Colonic Hydrotherapy or Colonic Irrigation as it is also known is a safe and effective way of cleansing the colon of waste material by repeated gentle flushing with water. During the treatment the toxic load on the body is reduced leaving you feeling fresh and revitalised.
What does a treatment involve?
Your Colonic Hydrotherapist will ask you questions, to build up a picture of your health and pinpoint any areas of concern. The procedure will then be explained to you in depth - it's quite normal to feel a little nervous but our therapist will soon put you at your ease.
A brief rectal examination will take place to ensure that this treatment is suitable for you and then the session will begin. In order to open the sphincter, a speculum is introduced, of which an inlet and outlet tube is attached to allow water to enter and waste to be piped away. The treatment also exercises and tones the bowel aiding waste to be evacuated both during and after treatment.
What can it treat?
Improved bowel function, clearer skin, fewer headaches and mental clarity are just some of the benefits of treatment. Particular conditions that can also be treated are IBS, ME, arthritis and allergies. After a session the bowel is also better at absorbing nutrients and less likely to absorb enterotoxins.
